I remember how much fun it was in the summer to gather all my neighborhood mates, split up into teams and have water gun wars. Hiding in the neighbors bushes, climbing up into trees, and even jumping into garbage cans, we silently awaited for the approach of our victims. I so wish that I could do that again. What a rush! If you are like me, you would love to do it again, even as an adult.. Stop lying to yourself, you know you would!

Wait, what? I can? How? No way…

Apparently there is a secret society of Water Gun war enthusiasts that play this game with tenacity, dedication and ninja like reflexes. It’s called StreetWars – a 3 week long, 24/7, watergun assassination tournament that has already taken place in New York City, Vancouver, Vienna, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Chicago, Paris and is now coming back to New York City

Imagine, if you will, signing up to become a Street Wars Assassin, where you have a meeting with the Top Boss in the back of some dark club on the sketchy side of town. This is the real deal – Hollywood style!! You are given a dossier, complete with your TARGET’S information: their home address, their business address, photos and more. All people in the game agree to give this information to the Street Wars officials. You then embark on a 3 week mission to take out your target by studying their moves and observing their patterns. If you are successful in taking out your target, they have to give you the target(s) that they are currently hunting. Sure to give anyone an instant adrenaline rush, you will never leave your home in the same fashion again, as long as you know that someone might be hunting you down. That paperboy sure looks suspicious… <silence> <squiiiiiiiiiirt>

Their muppet puppet builder is a snap to use and has a fair amount of options that include: 3 different body shapes, an assortment of eyes and noses, different hair styles, and a nice catalog of clothing options. After you “digitally” hand-craft your personalized muppet, all you need to do is whip out your credit card, fill in the order form and then patiently wait for it to arrive at your doorstep. The price is a little steep at $90.00 but, were talking about your very own muppet – c’mon! As with anything on the web, I am not sure how long this muppet builder will be around. During the Halloween and Christmas holidays, Alek Komarnitsky diligently installs his web-controllable decorations in order to raise awareness and donations for Celiac disease, providing hours of entertainment for those surfers on the web who religiously flock to his website to partake in the annual web festivities. His two sons, Dirk and Kyle Komarnitsky, have this disease which is noted for damaging the small intestine and interfering with the absorption of nutrients from food. People who have Celiac disease cannot tolerate gluten, a protein in wheat, rye, and barley.

This web novelty is an amazing testament of a father’s love for his children. I both applaud and admire Mr. Komarnitsky for sharing this annual tradition with the internet and for raising awareness about Celiac disease. Well, it certainly did not take me long to find the “largest” online mask website.
