Today, the 4th of May, is a very special day. Why is it so special? Because it is National Star Wars Day, aka – Luke Skywalker Day! So, how exactly did this all get started? Great question! Due to the similarities of the famous words uttered by Obi Wan Kenobi – “May the force be with you, always”, to this day – May 4th. Get it? May the 4th be with you? Oh come on – that’s funny! Whether you are an extreme Star Wars franchise fan or not, we have taken the liberty of compiling  some National Star Wars Day” links for your enjoyment.

Hulk Hogan, one of my childhood heroes, like many other children of the 80′s, has long been a cornerstone of Wrestling entertainment. The other night while I was watching re-runs of The Office, I could not believe what my eyes were seeing when Terry Hulk Hogan came sliding across the screen in a Rent-A-Center commercial. Yes!! I exclaimed, Hulk is back! I have always loved what Hulk has stood for – America, Freedom, & Kindness (well, except when he was with NWO – bleccchh).

I think the combination of Hulk Hogan and Troy Aikman is perfect! This commercial is pretty funny, once you get past the fact that two superheroes are peddling rent to own furnishings. Troy, an American football star – past quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, delivers his pitch with no-hype and little excitement. Add some Hulk Hogan in the mix and you have instant excitement and over the top delivery!

The two opposite poles make for a light-hearted, funny combination. Cheers for the marketing department over at Rent A Center! While a regular commercial from them may go unnoticed, you can’t ignore Hulk Hogan.

I say more companies should have Hulk Hogan as their spokesperson. At least you will pay attention, BROTHER!

I remember how much fun it was in the summer to gather all my neighborhood mates, split up into teams and have water gun wars. Hiding in the neighbors bushes, climbing up into trees, and even jumping into garbage cans, we silently awaited for the approach of our victims. I so wish that I could do that again. What a rush! If you are like me, you would love to do it again, even as an adult.. Stop lying to yourself, you know you would!

Wait, what? I can? How? No way…

Apparently there is a secret society of Water Gun war enthusiasts that play this game with tenacity, dedication and ninja like reflexes. It’s called StreetWars – a 3 week long, 24/7, watergun assassination tournament that has already taken place in New York City, Vancouver, Vienna, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Chicago, Paris and is now coming back to New York City

Imagine, if you will, signing up to become a Street Wars Assassin, where you have a meeting with the Top Boss in the back of some dark club on the sketchy side of town. This is the real deal – Hollywood style!! You are given a dossier, complete with your TARGET’S information: their home address, their business address, photos and more. All people in the game agree to give this information to the Street Wars officials. You then embark on a 3 week mission to take out your target by studying their moves and observing their patterns. If you are successful in taking out your target, they have to give you the target(s) that they are currently hunting. Sure to give anyone an instant adrenaline rush, you will never leave your home in the same fashion again, as long as you know that someone might be hunting you down. That paperboy sure looks suspicious… <silence> <squiiiiiiiiiirt>

This dude is really talented: from script/cursive to skulls, cobras to hearts, and even abstract/geometrics, Scott’s talent shines through. Apparently his tattoos are in high demand, as he is only available by appointment and at the time of this blog post it appears that he is completely booked…go figure!! In case you have been living under a rock and don’t know what Twitter is, or the growing list of celebrities that have adopted this social networking staple, you need to get on board and sign up, like yesterday! Recently, on the Ellen Degeneres show, P Diddy announced his love for Twitter and even got Ellen to get an account. This is great television and it’s most definitely What I Like On The Web. Still don’t know what Twitter is about, just watch the video and let Diddy explain.

@iamdiddy has taken his Twitter promotion very seriously. He has even devoted a youtube channel to his Twittering addiction, where he promotes what he is doing via his videos and earns followers by reminding them to follow @iamdiddy. Well played Mr. Combs, well played indeed! I salute Diddy for getting out there and shining a light on Twitter. Everyone needs to be on this service. LET’S GO!!!

How about starting your new year with some new music. Well, not exactly new, but mashed up and remixed. Do you recall when Jay-Z created a musical mashup with Linkin Park several years ago? Well, Minty Fresh Beats, a DJ out of New York has paired songs from Jay’s Black Album and American Gangster with a host of Radiohead tracks. This is a great listen if you are a fan of either Jay-Z or Radiohead. I must say that this mashup is just as good as the Linkin Park mix, if not better.

My favorite track on jaydiohead has to be “No Karma”. The base track from Radiohead’s “Karma Police” serves as an amazing beat for the lyrical mastermind, Jay-Z to rap over. “Dreaming up”, my second favorite song on this album is like a James Bond movie being injected into a mellow house lounge, where powerful people abound. I love it. They are indeed, Minty Fresh Beats!

If I had to define Remi Gaillard’s comedy videos, I would say that they are daring, brave, bold, and brilliant. I really enjoy his sense of humor. You might know of him from viral youtube videos such as: the disco elevator, reggae elevator, rocky training, mario kart in real life, urban football, and many others.

The Mario Kart video is definitely one of my favorites. Watch below and I am sure you will see why.
